January-March 2021 CanSkate and Adult Skate Cancelled

Due to current public health restrictions and the uncertainty of COVID-19, our executive and coaches have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the season for all CanSkate and Adult Skate sessions. Families will be receiving an email with further information in regards to credits and refunds.

Pre-STAR and STARSkate sessions will continue with the programming and safety precautions set out at the beginning of January.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our club continues to navigate through this difficult season. We look forward to when we can welcome all our skaters back to the ice!

Pre-STAR & STARSkate to Resume January 5

Thank you for your patience during this pause in our season. After careful consideration and planning, our executive and coaches have come up with a 2-week plan to allow our Pre-STAR and STARSkaters to get back to the ice starting January 5. Unfortunately our CanSkate and Adult Skate programs will remain paused until we receive further direction from the Chief Medical Officer and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Information on skate times and updated safety protocols have been emailed to all skating families. Please continue to check your emails and skatemartensville.ca for the latest information.

COVID-19 Update: Skating Season Paused

Many of you have likely been hearing about the numerous positive cases of Covid-19 in our city lately. Skate Martensville takes the health and well-being of our skaters, families, and community very seriously and we want to do whatever we can to limit the spread of and the exposure to the virus. In a proactive measure, and in support of other clubs in our community, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all further skating activities and sessions until at least December 1, 2020, effective immediately. Hopefully taking this time to “pause and reset” will allow us to get back on the ice soon. We will communicate any further changes or updates to you by email as usual.

We want to reassure our skating families by saying that there have been no positive cases in our club reported to our Covid-19 Rep, executive, or coaches thus far. However, we know that in a small city such as ours, the virus could spread quickly and it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to keep us all safe. In an effort to be as proactive and responsible as possible, we continue to ask you to do your part in staying home as much as possible, wearing your masks, and keeping a social distance from all others not in your household. If at any moment, you or someone in your family is confirmed positive, please let us know. Your information will be kept confidential and will only be used to help determine any decisions that our executive needs to make to maintain the safety of our members going forward.

We thank you all for continued understanding and support. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact skatemville.info@gmail.com.

Stay safe everyone,
Skate Martensville Executive
